SHILLONG: City contractor Karuna Ghosh, who was allegedly duped of Rs.19.5 lakh by one Gopi Nath Das, is pleading for justice.

The CJM Court recently had asked Gopi Nath Das to take an undertaking that he would appear before the Court in Kolkata on Sept 25 after granting him bail on Sept 19 on a bond of Rs.50,000 with certain conditions.

However, Ghosh is now apprehensive that the accused would go missing since he has been provided bail.

It may be noted that Ghosh, on the advice of CID Inspector Anjan Chakraborty, paid Rs.19.5 lakh as processing fee to Gopi Nath Das, owner of Global Engineering Development Corporation, Kolkata, to obtain a loan of Rs.1 crore.

After paying the processing fee, Ghosh received two cheques of Rs.50 lakh each from the company but both the cheques bounced.
