 Shillong: As a mark the World Veterinary Day, the Meghalaya Veterinary Service Association organised a workshop for farmers at Nongkrem village, East Khasi hills on Friday.

Going by this year’s theme-“Vets for health, Vets for food, vets for planet”, the workshop was organized to have an interaction with the farmers of the area.

Delivering the inaugural address, Nongkrem MLA Ardent Basaiawmoit appreciated the efforts of the Meghalaya Veterinary Service Association in organizing such a meet which could help in brining about improvement in every aspect including economic development of the village.

“Livestock rearing is one of the aspect which can help the farmers to improve their economy”, he said.
