TURA: The mysterious disappearance of a woman from the home of her live-in partner at Baghmara in South Garo Hills has led her sister and other family members to seek the intervention of Director General of Police P.J.P. Hanaman, with regard to an FIR filed earlier on September 5 against one Keneth M Sangma, a Constable in the 3rd MLP Bn posted at Kulang in West Khasi Hills and his mother.

The woman, Dipika Falicia A Sangma, had gone missing immediately after her quarrel with Keneth M Sangma and her mother earlier on August 9 at their temporary residence at Balsri Gittim Boldak A’ding in Baghmara, according to an FIR filed by her sister Marjina A Sangma.

The family strongly suspected the mother-son duo of being responsible for their family member’s disappearance even as they alleged that Dipika’s personal mobile handset had been destroyed although the same number was being used by the culprits every now and then.

“Despite the seriousness of the case, why was it that the matter was not reported to the police or to her relatives in Tura? It was also claimed that Dipika went missing on August 9 from 1 pm onwards, however eye witnesses have said that she was seen with Keneth M Sangma at 3 pm on the same day at Baghmara itself,” claimed Marjina A Sangma in her letter to the DGP.

Meanwhile, with police still to act on their FIR filed against the mother-son duo the family is still clueless about the whereabouts of their missing family member and have sought the DGP’s intervention to facilitate speedy action by the police.

“We are losing hope and patience which have prompted us to knock at your door. We will pursue the matter until we get the justice we deserve,” the family said in their letter to the DGP.

It is worth mentioning that the family had tried to solve the issue at the Mahari-level and even gone to Baghmara to get to the bottom of things.

However, they alleged that Keneth refused to come out to meet them although his presence at home was clearly known.

They claimed that there was no cooperation even from his mother which prompted them to head back to Tura after filing a missing report on August 18 at Baghmara Police station and another sets of FIRs against the duo at Baghmara and Tura police stations.
