NONGPOH: The Ri Bhoi Students’ Union (RBSU) on Tuesday expressed disappointment and concern over the recent order of M/s NKC Pvt. Ltd., which is implementing the four-lane project in the State, terminating all local Khasi youths who had been working in different capacities to complete the Expressway project.

“The four lane highway passing through Ri Bhoi District which has been christened as Jorabat-Umiam Expressway is the lifeline of the State and therefore the Union will stand to fight for those youths who have become employed after being terminated by the company,” RBSU president Everjoy Nongpluh said on Monday, while issuing a warning the RBSU would not allow the company to execute the Expressway construction work in the district if the sacked youths were not taken back.
