NONGPOH: Despite repeated warnings issued to public asking them not to divulge their ATM details to unknown callers, people of the State are still falling prey to such fraudsters.
The latest victim is a school teacher from Umling in Ri Bhoi district. The teacher, Pranab Kumar Sharma, was asked by an unknown caller, who claimed to be an SBI official, to reveal his ATM pin code so that the “invalid card” could be made functional again.
Later, Sharma found out that an amount of Rs 7000 was fraudulently debited from his account.
