Shishu Shiksha Ghar celebrates Diwali
By Our Reporter

SHILLONG: The Shishu Shiksha Ghar organized a special programme for over 250 under privileged children on the occasion of Deepawali here on Thursday.
The event was organized to make the “festival of light” special for these children who hardly get to enjoy life like their better placed counterparts for they have to work to support their families.
Keeping in line with the theme of a pollution free and environment friendly Diwali, only diyas (lamp) were lighted by the children and rangolis (traditional decoration) were made with flowers.
Games, dance performances besides other recreational activities were also organized on the occasion.
Children were also told about the essence of Diwali and the purpose of celebrating the same together with everyone without any kind of discrimination or difference.
The SSG team felt that the event was a successful one since it brought smiles to the faces of all the children who participated in it.
