10 killed, 30 injured in Nepal bus accident

Kathmandu: At least 10 people, including a Russian woman, were killed and 30 others injured on Saturday when two passenger buses collided head-on in central Nepal.

The pre-dawn accident happened in Makwanpur district’s Basamadi area, about 120 kilometres from the capital, when a Biratnagar-bound bus coming from Kathmandu collided with another bus on the national highway at around 2 AM (local time).

Among the 10 killed in the accident was a Russian tourist named Daria Mojkova and five other women. Thirty passengers sustained injuries in the accident with 12 of them said to be in a critical condition. (PTI)
