SHILLONG: In the first match of the day St. Anthony’s Colllege defeated BBS College in the Inter College Cricket Tournament 2014 organised by the Sports Department North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) at the SCA Cricket Ground Polo played at Polo Ground, here in Shillong.
St. Anthony’s college defeated BBS College by 8 wickets.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss BBS College scored 87 runs losing 9 wickets in alloted 25 overs. Kenny Wann scored 20 runs of 35 balls. And Vishal Singh scored 21 runs of 32 balls. Rakesh Kumar Shah took 3/11 runs for five overs for St. Anthony’s.
In reply, St. Anthony’s reached the target 88 runs losing 2 wickets in 16.3 overs. Bijay Deb topscored with 32 runs of 49 balls. And Swarajeet Das scored 25 runs of 15 balls and Anil Thapa took 2/20 runs for 4 overs for BBS College.
In the second match PG Nehu defeated Nongstoin College by 7 wickets. Nongstoin College won the toss and chose to bat first.
Nongstoin College were dismissed for 66 runs in 19.2 overs.
Basuklang Nongstet scored 22 runs of 36 balls. While Buddien Kupar destroyed them by taking 4/15 runs of 5 overs and Sumit Dey took 3/5 runs of 1.2 overs.
In reply, PG Nehu reached the target 67 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 18.2 overs. Buddien Kupar 19 runs of 26 balls. Pyntngen Mawlieh and Melvin Sohlangpiaw took 1 wicket each of 4 and 3 overs respectively.
