Jemino Mawthoh, MLA, Nongthymmai inaugurated the workshop whose objective is to produce a more informed audience and a capable workforce that is able to act on its own to bring about a positive change in matters relating to Climate Change and the natural environment.

Addressing the audience, Mawthoh emphasized on the importance of participation from all sectors of society in order to initiate early and urgent action at an ecological level to prevent unforeseen disasters. He also called for better implementation of present laws to tackle environmental problems.

Dr. Scholz, the GIZ CCA-NER programme director highlighted the need to keep the North-East pristine and how the youth can take up a more active role in forming pressure/interest groups for tackling Climate Change problems.
