Guwahati: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said Raising alarmover global upsurge of Islamic terror,Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said Indian government was deeply concern over the rise of terrorism under the banner of ISIS in Syria and Iraq as it has come to light that many

Indian youth have been lured to its trap trough cyber propaganda launched by the group.

Inaugurating the 49th annual conference of DGs and IGPs of all state police forces and Central Police Organisations here this morning, Rajnath Singh called upon the police forces to live up to the challenge posed by global terror Al Qaeda’s design intended at islamisation of the sub-continent.

He lauded West Bengal police for busting the Jamatul Mujahideen Bang-ladesh (JMB) module in the wake of Burdwan blast on October 2 last that left two JMB member dead besides exposing the widespread activities of JMB in the area.

He suggested that the police summit should try to hammer out a special stra-tegy to tackle insurgency in

the Northeast where the problem stems from social conflict and under develop-ment. He announced that the BJP government was fully committed to formulate a special development package for the Northeast to

facilitate all encompassing development for all the communities.

He spoke harshly of Pakistan for continuing to hatch design to keep terrorism alive in Jammu and

Kashmir where there has been marked improvement in the situation of late and few youth could be recrui-ted by Pak-sponsored error groups. “Pakistan maintains that non-state actors from that country are involved behind the trouble in the J-K. But I want to ask Pakis-tan, where ISI is also a non-state actor?” Rajnath said.

He said Pakistan backed separatists would not succeed in weaning away Indian Muslims who are as much patriot as any other community and made equal sacrifices in securing free-dom for the country.

“The South Asian wing of Al-Qaeda claimed that they made an attempt (failed) to hijack a Pakistani

naval frigate sometimes back to attack Indian and US naval ships on the sea. Our forces and intelligence agencies should be pre-pared o face such challen-ges,” Rajnath said adding that many internal and external forces were posing threat to the national security and integrity of the country.

The Home Minister said though the Maoists rebel-lion was on the wane in most of states of their influence, there was no scope for getting complacent. “We want Maoists to be uprooted from all nook and

corners of the country while we remain ready to talk with them if they shun violence,” Rajnath said.

“Our government is for equipping the state police forces with modern techno-logy to improve surveil-lance. There is need to tack-le cyber campaign launched by global terror groups and improving coastal line security in the country,” the home minister said.
