SHILLONG: Sports Barca lifted the trophy in the first five-a-side TS Rumnong Memorial Football tournament organised by Nongkseh Sports Social & Cultural Club on Saturday.
Sports Barca defeated Sports Madrid 2-0 in an electrifying final match.
The trophy and other prizes were given away by chief guest S Lyngdoh, State Special Sports Officer and other guests including headman Raid Sawkur Nongkseh R Rumnong, AL Thangkhiew and B Rumnong.
The guests lauded the Sports Club for conducting such a tournament to encourage the youth in the field of sports.
Trophy of the tournament was sponsored by Mrs D Rani (wife) and family of Late former president of Nongkseh Sports Social & Cultural Club and RV Lyngdoh, MLA Mylliem Constituency.
Apart from the guests DS Rumnong, president and R Kharmalki, general secretary of the Club also spoke on the occasion.
Official sponsors of the tournament included Adidas, Timex and Bombay Biites.
