Ban on plastic

The Syiem of Mylliem and Durbar has banned sale, use and throwing of low density plastic bags which is less than 40 microns under Section 3 of the Meghalaya Prohibition of Manufacture Sale, use and throwing of Low Density Plastic Bags act, 2001. The magistrate, police and Shillong Municipal Board along with the Dorbar of the Syiem, Hima Mylliem will conduct inspection in the entire area of Iewduh and anyone found violating the aforesaid order shall be penalized as per law.

Healing Church

The Worldwide Healing Church, Shillong will organise two programmes at U Soso Tham auditorium on September 3 and 4. On September 3, the programme will start with a true worshippers’ celebration 2011 from 1pm onwards followed by a worship and healing miracle service on September 4 from 10.30am onwards.

Seminar

The Meghalaya Pensioners’ Association will organise a seminar on Social Evils etc and tree planting at Pomlum Higher Secondary School, Upper Shillong at 11am on September 10. Governor RS Mooshahary and local MLA Ronnie V Lyngdoh will be present in the function as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

Fashion house

Janessaline Mary Pyngrope and Daniel Nongjop Syiem will launch their maiden joint venture ‘Daniel Syiem’s Ethnic Fashion House’ on the premises of Lai Sparbah Farm, Umpling at 12pm on Saturday. Meghalaya Assemble Speaker Charles Pyngrope will attend the programme as the chief guest.
