Pre Christmas celebration held

SHILLONG: The NSS Unit of St.Anthony’s College on Saturday organised a pre Christmas celebration Programme in the premises of Shanti Bhavan, A Mercy Home run by the Sisters of Mother Teresa’s congregation.

The programme was attended by the NSS programme officers along with 20 student volunteers from the college, and 25 females and 35 males inmates of Shanti Bhavan, in the Presence of all the sisters and helpers the Bhavan.

The programme strated with a reading from the Holy Bible (Mathew 22:37-39 “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self”).

In a short speech given by one of the programme officers, C.Saiborne, she lauded the love, the time and the selfless service of the sisters in charge and the staff of Shanti Bhavan who are the real embodiment of Love as most of the inmates were people with disabilities.

The programme was then followed by lunch and distribution of Christmas gifts to all the inmates and the sisters.
