Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) chairperson Meena Kharkongor has said that the members of the village dorbar of Umiuh Tmar village near Pynursla have admitted their involvement in the assault of the boy, who was accused of working as a spy for BSF.

“During my visit to the village to assess the ground reality last week, the Rangbah Shnong of the village admitted that they had assaulted the youth,” Kharkongor said here on Monday.

She also informed that the Rangbah Shnong was also keen to have a compromise with the members of the aggrieved families.

“Village dorbar cannot take the law into its own hand,” she said.
