Lt Gen SP Nawathe, GOC 101 Area pays homage at War Memorial on the occasion of the 43rd Vijay Diwas in the city on Tuesday. Vijay Diwas commemorates India's victory over Pakistan forces on December 16, 1971, leading to the birth of Bangladesh. 101 Area played a pivotal role in the success of these operations and was the first formation of the Indian Army to enter Dacca on its capitulation.
