Rijiju to arrive in city today

 SHILLONG: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju will arrive here on a two-day visit on Friday.

According to sources, Rijiju is scheduled to land in Guwahati at 8 am on Friday. He would then fly to Dawki to take stock of the border management there.

The Union Minister will attend a function at Synod College thereafter.

Later in the day, Rijiju is scheduled to hold a meeting with senior bureaucrats at the Secretariat. The Union Minister will be felicitated by the State unit of the BJP at Youth Hostel at 4 pm. On Saturday, Rijiju will attend the passing out ceremony at the North Eastern Police Academy before concluding his trip to the Hill State.

This will be the first trip by any NDA minister to the State after coming to power at the Centre earlier this year.
