SHILLONG: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Friday informed that the Union Government would hold a meeting with chief ministers of all the Northeastern states to discuss the issue of Jihadi activities in the region.

On the activities of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in the region, the Minister admitted that it was difficult to check the movement of people along the international border due to its porous nature.

Stating that the matter had been discussed in the meeting of the Joint Intelligence Committee, Rijiju said that the Centre would make strategic action plans to tackle the menace.

Without naming any country, Rijiju said that talks with any nation should not continue beyond a point. “We want results out of the talks,” he said while asserting that the situation would improve in the coming days.
