SHILLONG: The Megh-alaya Transport Corporation Workers Union (MTCWU) will launch a three-day total strike from November 28 in protest against non-payment of salary for the last four months.

No bus would ply from Shillong and the railway ticket counter would remain closed during the three-day shut down.

Informing this here on Monday, the MTCWU general secretary K Rumnong said the MTC employees were also demanding immediate release of the arrears.

Rumnong said, “The Government has cleared seventy per cent of the arrears for the other Government employees but we have received neither our salary nor arrears.”

The MTC workers staged a dharna from 1 pm to 3 pm on Monday and it will continue till Friday.
