Shillong: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), through the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle has instituted a Rajiv Gandhi Award for Academic Excellence to be awarded to the toppers of Class X and all streams of Class XII, under MBOSE, ICSE and CBSE in the State.
According to MPCC publicity secretary, Manbor S Warjri, the award is meant to recognize the achievements of the meritorious students and to encourage them to strive for greater goals.
There will be three awards for Class X level (MBOSE, ICSE and CBSE) with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for each topper. While eight awards have been set aside for the class XII level ( Science, Commerce and Arts) with a cash prize of Rs 30,000.
The date of the award ceremony will be announced soon and the MPCC committee on Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle has been entrusted to work out all the modalities.
