Itanagar: The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) is monitoring three delayed power projects scheduled to add 2,710 MW in Arunachal Pradesh. The projects are the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydro-Electric Project taken up by NHPC, the 600 MW Kameng HEP and 110 MW Pare HEP, both executed by NEEPCO. The Subansiri project has been halted because of an agitation launched by anti-dam activists in Assam.

The project, which was originally scheduled for completion in 2010-11, is likely to be commissioned during the period 2016-18, Union Minister of State for Power Jyotiraditya Scindia informed. The minister said the major reasons for delay in setting up the projects are due to delay in getting statutory clearances. (PTI)
