State Planning Board interacts with VEC members

SHILLONG: For the first time in the State an open interaction was held between the State Planning Board and 263 village employment councils (VEC) under Nongstoin C&RD Block on Friday. The interaction sought to seek suggestions from the VECs on the progress, implementation and achievement of various developmental schemes.
A meeting of the officer bearers including chairman, secretary, and women’s representatives of the VECs was held and more than 300 members attended the meet.  The meeting was addressed by V. Swer, BDO, Nongstoin, and chaired by  John F Kharshiing, Co-Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board and  Chairman, Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya.
