LFW to host first model audition for northeast

Guwahati: Hosting its first ever model hunt in the northeast, the Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is coming to Guwahati for the upcoming season.
LFW is jointly organised by Lakmé, an Indian cosmetics and beauty services brand, and IMG Reliance Pvt. Ltd., leaders in sports, fashion and entertainment marketing and management.
The auditions will be held in association with Northeast India Fashion & Design Council (FNDC) on July 4 at Terra Mayaa Lounge, Guwahati.
The auditions will be judged by national fashion influencers, along with model Sonalika Sahay and popular Assamese actresses Nishita Goswami and Barsha Rani Bishaya. The results will be declared on the same day.
The winning models will get a contract to walk the runway at the prestigious Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 which is scheduled to take place between August 24-28 in Mumbai.
Jaspreet Chandok, Vice-President and Head-Fashion IMG Reliance Limited, said in a statement: “IMG Reliance is building a special focus towards northeast India in this coming season of Lakmé Fashion Week. This audition is the first step in line with our commitment to bring talent from the northeast to the mainstream. (IANS)
