Sonowal urges uninterrupted gas supply to tea gardens

Guwahati: In a move to provide succour to small tea growers, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has urged MoS for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan for a sustained and uninterrupted gas supply to small tea growers.
In a telephonic discussion on Friday, Sonowal requested the Union Minister to start construction work of super specialty hospital in Sivasagar as proposed by the ONGC very soon. Pradhan assured to look into the matter sympathetically and expeditiously. In a statement, the Chief Minister Sonowal said that during his two day Sivasagar district visit which culminated, various individuals and organisations expressed their desire for the continuance of uninterrupted gas supply to tea gardens and setting up of a super specialty hospital in Sivasagar town as promised by the ONGC.
According top priority to their requests, Sonowal requested Dharmendra Pradhan over telephone to use his Ministry for the fulfillment of their demands.
Pradhan assured all cooperation in supplying gas to the small tea growers including starting construction work of the super specialty hospital in Sivasagar soon. (UNI)
