SHILLONG: The UDP will hold its central election committee meeting on Monday to discuss issues related to finalizing candidates for by-polls to the seven vacant district council seats.
UDP leader Bindo Lanong said on Sunday that besides the issues related to district council polls, the party’s election preparedness for 2018 will also be taken up for discussion.
On possibilities of pre-poll alliance for 2018, Lanong said there will be some understanding with ‘likeminded’ parties as the intention of the non Congress political parties in the State would be to ensure that the State is free from the Congress party.
“The issue of pre-poll alliance will be discussed in the days to come”, Lanong added.
