SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner P.S Dkhar has initiated steps to implement Aadhaar in the district at the earliest.
Last week, the deputy commissioner had a meeting with Avvas Infotech Private Limited, which is implanting Aadhaar in the State.
“I have asked them to come up with the required team of persons and machines so that the implementation of Aadhaar can start systematically without any interruption,” Dkhar said.
According to the deputy commissioner, the Aadhaar implementation will start this month and he wanted to ensure that there are no complaints once the process starts.
Dkhar said there are frequent calls from pensioners and students who have to withdraw pension and opt for scholarships through Aadhaar.
“I am concerned about them and others who are eagerly waiting to get Aadhaar,” the deputy commissioner said.
