NONGPOH: Six persons had a close shave when the Ambulance they were travelling in collided with a jeep. The mishap this occurred around 12 o’clock on Thursday at Mawdiangum in Nongpoh area.
According to the eyewitnesses, the ambulance bearing registration number ML 05 S 0759 and driven by one Batskhem Nongtraw, was on its way to Guwahati ferrying patients to a Guwahati Hospital, but on reaching at Mawdiangum it collided with a jeep bearing registration number ML 10 9211 and driven by one Hillar Syngkli. Fortunately, the patient along with his relatives was not hurt in the collision.
The ambulance driver, Batskhem Nongtraw said while he was overtaking a truck suddenly one jeep that was moving backward, appeared on its path and the ambulance hit the jeep from the rear side.
The patient along with the relatives was rushed to Nongpoh Civil hospital for a medical check-up. They were released after the examination.
