North-East Food Show begins tomorrow
SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma along with the chief ministers of other Northeastern states will host the Chief Minister’s Conclave at the North-East Food Show in the city to deliberate on the topic ‘Charting of a new Course for the North East through Food Processing and Supply Chain Management’.
The North-East Food Show, a food innovation exhibition which is being organised by the Meghalaya Government and SIAL India, will be held in Polo Grounds from December 4 to 6.
The Meghalaya government debuted as the state partner for the second edition of SIAL India organised by Comexposium India and Inter Ads Exhibitions Pvt Ltd held at Pragati Maidan from September 19 to 21. The three-day exhibition was inaugurated by Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan and chief minister.
The participation of Meghalaya at SIAL India was a curtain raiser for Northeast’s first and biggest food innovation exhibition- North-East Food Show. The food exhibition is the first of its kind in North East focusing on creating a global platform to inspire food business in the region.
The food show would see the participation of over 100 brands
The North-East Food Show will also be the platform for the Chef Wars – a platform for chefs to showcase their culinary skills and judged by celebrity chefs from the Indian Culinary Forum and faculty of IHM, Shillong.
The show will also be hosting buyers from the food and beverage industry like Purchasing Professionals Forum-India, Forum of Indian Food Importers, International Trade delegations, Farmer Producer Companies and many more as part of the Hosted Buyer initiative.
