My life with corona virus

The corona virus pandemic started in an animal market in Wuhan province, China, and quickly swept over the world like an uncontrollable and angry storm. It has killed hundreds of thousands of people in a few months. This virus seems to be related to the organism that causes common cold and also the one that causes pneumonia. This virus has invaded the world, turned our lives upside down. We are at home because we are locked down, which means we cannot go outdoors; our lives have been upended. How I love playing with my friends outdoors, now I can only talk to them over the phone. Corona virus is bad and has caused a lot of turmoil in the world but because of it I have learnt so many new things.
I have learned different types of craft while locked indoors. My mum and I have created a wall art using skewer sticks and coloured paper circles, it is so beautiful. I have also lost a lot of weight very easily by doing exercises shown by people on YouTube. My favourite YouTube exercise is PE with Joe and SH1FT HIIT for kids. It is very funny because it seemed impossible for me to lose weight when we were free to play outdoors! Another thing I have learned is how to bake a cake and shortbread. Making shortbread is very easy and I managed to bake an orange chocolate shortbread by myself with my mum helping me only in grating the orange zest and handling the oven. Mum has also learned new recipes such as very tasty and healthy momos (my favourite food). She has also learned how to bake Spanish bread. I never knew my mother loved Spain! These days she is always giving me restaurant standard food, I am enjoying it even though there are bouts of khichri in between.
This lockdown has given me the chance to spend a lot of time with my LEGO. I cannot even imagine that my mother allowed me to pour out all my LEGO on a mat and keep it there for several days. This allowed me to build a huge fort that seemed very strong and I used it and my LEGO people to play imaginary war games. After a few days the fort did not seem strong so I wrecked it and built a trench instead until my mother decided it was time for me to clean up. I am now responsible for a few chores, one of which is washing cups and saucers after tea time. I pranked my mother once by banging something on the sink and shouting that a cup is broken though it was not. My mother came running all worried until she realised I had fooled her. We had a good laugh.
We now have virtual classroom and my favourite subjects in Class V are science and social studies. We are learning pollination in science and I have pasted and labelled a dissected flower on my scrapbook and am planning to make a chart on the evolution of humans.
Sometimes I talk to my friends on the phone and we play a war version of stone paper scissors called WWD. This is quite fun but nothing compared to how much fun we have playing together outdoors. I do go outdoors now, though it is just out of the main door and up the steps to the terrace. While on the terrace my parents and I have a wonderful time enjoying the breeze, jogging and learning new games like a version of hopscotch. What I have realised is the air seems cleaner and lighter and when I look up, the sky is so beautifully blue, no wonder so many different birds are flying around our building now. The sunset is also so beautiful.
All in all I am having an interesting time at home but I always worry for the children who are hungry and have no parents or a home to stay in. I hope that the corona virus will go and the lockdown will be lifted. I am so thankful that my teachers are teaching us so well and I hope they stay safe. I also hope that the doctors, nurses, police and everyone on the frontline fighting the corona virus will be safe and be rewarded. We should obey the rules and stay safe indoors. The scientist and researchers are all working hard to develop a vaccine or a treatment, so I know this virus will not stay long and will disappear soon.

Kindness in time of pandemic

Once there was a boy named Raj who lived happily with his family in a beautiful hilly area in a beautiful house. Just in front of his house lived a boy named Aman with his parents in a small hut. They were very poor as the father used to drive an auto rickshaw. Still his father used to send him to school to study. Raj was in Class VIII and Aman was in Class VII. Aman was very good at studies. Aman and Raj were good friends. They used to play and study together. Then one day there came a pandemic named the corona virus. It was so fatal that people were asked to stay indoors so as to stop others from getting this virus. One day Raj was thinking about what to do after his studies. He had tried almost all the indoor games he had and all the virtual games he had but still he was feeling bored. Then suddenly he remembered Aman. He thought how he was spending his time during the lockdown. He went to his balcony to see what Aman was doing.
Aman was sitting in front of his house. He was looking very worried. Raj called him from the balcony. When he saw Raj he felt better. They asked each other about how their families were and how were they spending time. Raj said all the things were normal but just that he got bored the whole day. But when Aman spoke, Raj felt really bad for him. He said that they were having some problems because of not having money. He said that they had very less food left and was bored because of not having anything to play with. They talked for a while and then they went back inside.
At dinner, Raj said everything to his mother. He asked his mother how he could help Aman in this situation. His mother told him that he could help Aman by giving him some things that he needs.
The next day Raj collected everything that Aman needed like some food, some of his old comic books and some government helpline numbers, which he saw on the television, which would provide them with money, food and with some daily need products. Then he went to his balcony and called Aman to come out of his house and meet him near his main gate. When Aman reached there, Raj gave him all the things to him, which were kept in a jute bag, and said all the things he needed were in the bag. Aman was really happy. He thanked Raj for this help and that he could never forget the help that he got from Raj. That day Raj felt really happy and satisfied.
The moral of the story is kindness is the bliss to happiness.

Experiencing new things in lockdown

The year 2020 has brought many challenges to mankind which have overturned man’s lifestyle, among which has been the outbreak of corona virus. The present pandemic has proved to be catastrophic. Big powers have also been unsuccessful in stopping the spread of this deadly virus. This global crisis has altered the way we perceive our lives. However, India has faced the situation responsibly. The steps taken by the Indian government have proved effective in controlling the spread of the virus, a major part of which has been the implementation of lockdown.
This lockdown has given us an opportunity to improve ourselves. Everyone is trying to develop his or her skills by learning something new. We are now spending our time with our family and creating beautiful memories with them. However, I being languorous in nature have utilised the lockdown to understand the essence of life. I have tried to analyse human nature and have come to the conclusion that we are living in a false society. We say to the world we are united though diverse but we refuse to cooperate with others during such crisis. I have noticed how people risk their lives just for their mere enjoyment. They violate the rules and not only endanger their lives but jeopardise others. Besides, I realised that religion is being followed blindly. Some people misinterpret religion without understanding its essence.
Moreover, this lockdown has made me realise how blessed I am, for the unfortunate class of the society is struggling to fill their stomach in this crisis. They have to move out of their home even after knowing that their life is at risk just to get a square meal. However, on the other hand, the rich are wasting money on liquor. They accept to stand in queues for hours just to get liquor. Such people are in turn affecting the health of the entire nation.
I have utilised this lockdown to peep into myself and have tried to be better than what I am. I have tried to be optimistic during this lockdown. Otherwise, depression would seep into my mind like it has affected many.

People are cursing this year as it has proved to be devastating. On the contrary, I feel this is one of the best years that I have ever experienced. This year has been of great benefit to Mother Nature. The depleting ozone layer is now recuperating. The environment is purifying itself which has in turn allowed man to be charmed by the beauty of nature. This is such a year which has compelled man to follow proper hygiene rules.
In conclusion, I pay my respect to all the corona warriors who are working outside to keep us safe. Our doctors, cleaners, municipal workers and policemen, among others, who are still fighting to save our nation, I salute them. I hope that we will win this battle and I visualise a better future where the environment and every mortal being is purified.

True friend

Once there was a boy named Asa who lived with his mother and father and siblings in a beautiful house. Raju lived with his parents in a small hut in front of Asa’s house. They were very poor as his father used to drive autorickshaw. Still, his father has put his child in a school to study. He was very good in studies. And then there came a pandemic in the country by the name corona virus. This was so fatal that people were asked to stay indoors.
As such, Raju’s father could not ply his autorickshaw which meant he could no longer afford food beyond rice and lentils and was not being able to pay his rent. Knowing this, Asa felt very sad and wanted to help his family. Asa’s father gave Raju’s father some money so that he could buy enough food for his family and also to pay his rent. Asa also gave Raju some toys so that he could play at home along with some drawing materials so that he could practice drawing and painting in his free time. Asa felt very happy after he has helped him.

Lockdown experience

My lockdown experience is very difficult but I am getting to learn a lot of things during this time. Our life may become suffocating inside the house but nature looks relaxed. Humans have abused nature through pollution and deforestation and that is why nature is taking revenge through corona virus. This is our fault.
Amid this lockdown, I have realised that we should wash our hands properly, eat home-made food and we should not waste food. Also, we need to plant more trees and should not pollute or hurt our environment or else we have to suffer the same disease again.
