NONGSTOIN: Following the demand of the Khasi Students’ Union, the Health department conducted COVID-19 tests on all the staff and labourers of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Pyndengrei, and no positive cases were detected.
The staff of FCI, whose tests came out as negative, said that the drivers and labourers are adhering to the standard operating procedure (SOP), while adding that, recently, one of the handymen, who was involved in transporting rice to FCI, had tested positive.
It was suspected that the handyman must have come in contact with infected persons in Assam.
