Editor,

The write-up, “Give us a break from Congress warfare,” by Patricia Mukhim (ST 3rd June 2011 has without doubt highlighted the dirty political games being played by the Congress party at the cost of the common man who had voted it to power. The musical chair that has been going on for a long while needs to be put to rest, and any right-minded individual would definitely agree that the state of affairs in Meghalaya have gone to the dogs.

The Chief Minister himself may have many good intentions and a vision to propel the state but his colleagues are the source of all the musical game. If public opinion could be surveyed then many would like to see the current CM continue rather than some political maniac taking the state down the drain. It is such a shame that we go around walking tall and promote everything about Meghalaya, but the world outside is fooled when our house is in disorder. The issues highlighted by author in her write-up needs urgent corrective measures, and when garbage also occupies political space then politics too seems smells of garbage. Perhaps, some sense of shame should be put upon these dissidents, that is, if they have any shame left.

Yours etc.,

Dominic S.Wankhar
