Assam to withdraw cess on petroleum products

Guwahati: Following last week’s nationwide hike in prices of diesel, kerosene and LPG cylinder, the Assam government on Tuesday announced of withdrawing cess from these products very soon. Talking to reporters here, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said, ”Assam will soon withdraw cess.” ”We have to make an assessment first. The Union minister has also requested the states to ease the consumer burden and we will soon provide some relieve,” he added. (UNI)
