Music academy on the anvil

Shillong: The State Government will start a music academy for preservation songs composed by noted singers of the State.

Disclosing this at the prize distribution function of the two-day painting competition for the differently-abled children, organized by the Art and Culture Department, at the Arts and Culture Hall here on Wednesday, Lanong stressed on the need to preserve the songs of noted singers.

“We are going to involve noted singers of bygone days all the districts in this academy”, Lanong added.

While appreciating the talents of these differently abled children who took part at the competition Lanong said, “these special people are not different from any one of us”.

Lanong and other dignitaries gave away the prizes to the winners of the competition.
