SHILLONG: The North Eastern Hills University (NEHU) has drawn criticism from certain quarters for selling admission forms even before declaring the degree final year results for Arts, Science and Commerce streams.

While many students awaiting their results started procuring the forms, many believe the move to be a ploy by the NEHU to sell more forms in order to generate revenue.

The students, who fail to clear their exams, would be spending the money in vain, skeptics say.

A section of the parents also criticised the move saying this type of money-making venture is expected from private institutions and not from a Central university like NEHU.

On June 23 last, NEHU had issue a notification informing that applications are invited for the academic session commencing from August, 2011.

Each form along with a prospectus costs Rs 200 for general category and Rs 100 for SC/ST category students. The last date of submission of the forms is July 25.
