New Delhi: India has prepared an “error free” list of most wanted terrorists, including runaway underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Sayeed, allegedly hiding in Pakistan in which the mistakes in a similar dossier handed over to Islamabad in March have been corrected, informed sources said on Wednesday.

The updated list has been compiled after every detail was “meticulously checked” from various law enforcement and intelligence agencies, a home ministry official told IANS.

“The list is ready but is being verified again,” the official said.

The sources said the ministry had got inputs from all the investigating agencies including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and police from various states.

It is expected to be ready by the next week and sent to Pakistan, the sources said.

The Home ministry will send the list to the ministry of external affairs, which in turn will send it to the Pakistan high commission in New Delhi.

The sources said India would also separately inform Pakistan about two suspected terrorists who figured in the earlier list erroneously but were later found living in India.

One among them, Wazhul Qamar Khan, listed as criminal number 41 in the dossier, was found to be living in Thane. He was out on bail while undergoing trial in a blast case.

The second one, Feroze Khan, listed at number 24, was in Mumbai’s fortified Arthur Road Central Jail, facing trial in the 1993 serial blasts case.

India’s list of 50 “most wanted” terrorists believed to be hiding in Pakistan was given to Islamabad during the home secretary-level talks held in New Delhi in March.

India wants Pakistan to track the terrorists hiding on its soil.

The list includes Lashkar commander Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi and Major Iqbal, who is believed to have links with Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The two are alleged to have master-minded the November 2008 Mumbai attack along with LeT chief Hafiz Saeed. (IANS)
