Jamshedpur: A man and his son were sentenced to life imprisonment today by the court of Additional District and Session Judge Pankaj Kumar in connection with an abduction and murder case of 2008. Following the completion of the trial, the judge had convicted Laxminarayan Mishra and his son Prakash Mishra yesterday but the quantum of punishment was pronounced on Thursday. According to a FIR lodged under Telco police station here, the accused alongwith four others had abducted Prabir Jha allegedly for helping Amarjeet Singh, who had eloped with Laxminarayan’s daughter in 2008. The father-son duo had allegedly abducted Jha from his house in a four-wheeler and strangulated him to death on September 19, 2008. The subsequent post-mortem report also revealed that Jha had ligature mark around his neck and was strangulated to death. Additional Public Prosecutor Virendra Kumar Prasad said altogether six persons, including the father-son duo, were made accused in the case. (IANS)
