Sex racket busted, foreign women held

New Delhi: Police have busted another sex racket here and arrested seven woman, mostly from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and an Indian pimp, it was announced on Tuesday. Acting on a tip off, detectives swooped on the foreigners who visited India on tourist visa, each time staying in Delhi for two to six months and offering their services to select customers. The six call girls were paid Rs.1 lakh a month, a senior officer said. The seventh woman was a pimp — and a foreigner too. The male pimp was identified as Deepak Verma, 25, from Pittoragarh in Uttaranchal. According to police, Verma worked for a man said to be Ashish, the kingpin of the racket and owner of a website, Delhi Top Escorts. The arrests were made Monday from Delhi’s South Extension area following a deal struck with a decoy customer, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand said. (IANS)
