New York: Harry Potter star Emma Watson is reportedly lined up to star in director Guillermo Del Toro’s new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The 21-year-old, who recently filmed the last movie in the Harry Potter franchise, said that she is rediscovering herself as an actress after playing Hermione Granger for so many years, reported Huffington Post. “Watson is lined up to star in director Guillermo Del Toro’s new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, said Denise Di Novi, producer of the film. It will be the first undisputed lead role for Watson, who is also due to star in the ensemble of the teen drama adaptation ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ and has a supporting role in the Michelle Williams starring ‘My Week With Marilyn’. As for Del Toro, the director is currently working on ‘Pacific Rim’, a sci-fi robots vs aliens film. He is largely been known for his violent, comic book-style films, including the ‘Hellboy’ series. He is also listed as a producer of an upcoming adaptation of Pinocchio. (PTI)
Costner joins cast of Django Unchained
New York: Oscar-winner Kevin Costner has reportedly signed up to star in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The director is said to have cast the 56-year-old actor for the role of Ace Woody, a sadistic trainer of slaves who pits fighters against one another in the cowboy movie, reported Huffington Post. The film tells the story of slave-turned-bounty hunter Django (Jamie Foxx), who takes on villains Ace and Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), the owners of a Mississippi club and ranch, after being freed by German bounty hunter ‘Dr King Schultz’, Christoph Waltz, while Jackson will take up the role of ‘Calvin’s’ head slave ‘Stephen’. Costner is due to start filming ‘Man of Steel’ – a reboot of the ‘Superman’ film series in Vancouver, Canada, and Chicago in the next few weeks. (PTI)
Lovato, Ryan romance in trouble
Los Angeles: Teen star Demi Lovato has reportedly been dating actor Ryan Phillipe, but things have taken a back seat after it was alleged that he is the father of his ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp’s newborn. The 18-year-old singer-actress was not aware that Phillipe was going to become a father for the third time, according to sources. The actor already has two children, Ava Elizabeth, 11, and Deacon Reese, seven, with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon, reported E! Online. “It was really hot and heavy for a while, until it basically happened. It kind of threw her for a loop,” a source said. The ‘Stop-Loss’ actor stood by Knapp during her labour, although it is yet to be confirmed whether he is the father and is waiting for results of the paternity test. “He is a good father, and whether this is his baby or not, he wants to do the right thing and be supportive,” a source said. Phillipe is also said to have had an on/off relationship with actress Amanda Seyfried earlier this year. (PTI)
