London: Pupils of a ‘special’ primary school in the UK have overawed everyone with their skill – they can speak 44 different languages.
The 40-year-old Church of England school in Surrey is believed to have claimed the record for the largest number of foreign languages spoken.
The list includes Afrikaans, Aramaic, Filipino, Ga, Kikuyu, Kissii, Kannada, Telugu, Yoruba and Zulu. And of the seven continents, all but Antarctica is represented.
“Many people see this as a difficulty but we celebrate our differences,” the Daily Mail quoted head teacher Janet Lightfoot, of St Matthew’s in Redhill, as saying.
“It makes the school varied and special,” added Lightfoot. (ANI)
