Rs 12.90 cr sanctioned for road project

 NONGSTOIN: The Hynni-ewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Nongstoin circle has demanded speedy implementation of newly sanctioned road project between Rwiang to Langpih.

Rs 12.90 crore has been sanctioned under special plan assistance (SPA) for the project.

A delegation of HNYF on Friday met the Executive Engineer of the PWD (road), Nongstoin at his office chamber in this regard.

The delegation also urged the contractors to utilize the fund properly to complete the project on time.

A senior PWD official assured the delegation that he would personally supervise the road project.

BSNL Service: The FKJGP’s Umdohlun unit has decried poor BSNL service in Mawkyrwat area.

The president of the unit Tarsist Thongni urged the BSNL authorities to make the BSNL tower functional.

Surprise checking: The office of the District Transport Officer (DTO), Nongstoin, recently conducted a surprise checking of vehicles at Nongstoin market.

During the checking it was found that several vehicles did not possess the necessary documents. It was also found that a number of drivers did not have valid driving license.

Fines were imposed on such vehicles and drivers.
