Cricketer killed in road mishap

GUWAHATI:A local cricketer was killed and his team mates were injured in a road accident at Kaoimari in Tezpur in northern Assam’s Sonitpur district on Saturday.Reports said the Tata magic vehicle, in which the cricket team was travelling, was hit by a boulder-carrying truck of the Army.Fourteen people in the smaller vehicle were injured and rushed to the civil hospital at Tezpur, where one of the cricketer, Mohan Sharma, was declared dead.Thirteen others sustained injuries and two of the seriously injured have been sent to Gauhati medical college and hospital here.The cricket team was on its way to Udalguri to participate in a tournament.
