Nongstoin: Nongstoin MDC LG Nongsiej on Wednesday inaugurated Sangriang health sub-centre in a simple function attended by around 500 people.
Funded by National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), the health centre has come as a blessing to the villagers of Sangriang, Mawduh, Mawthar, Mawthawphet and Diengshyieng.
In his speech, Nongsiej urged the people of Sangriang village to avail the facilities to be provided by the sub-centre.
He informed the PHE Department, Nongstoin sanctioned Rs. 3, 42, 51,100 for implementation of Lawse Combine Water Supply Scheme. People from Lawse, Sohlait, Wahladew, Sohparu, Mawthar, Sangriang and Mawthaphet will be benefited from the project.
Dr. P. Lyngkhoi, Medical Superintendent, Nongstoin Civil Hospital, while addressing the gathering said there has been a rise in pregnancy-related death cases in India. He urged the pregnant women to get their medical checkup done in time.
