 Shillong: To mark the International Year of Chemistry, the Inspectorate of Schools, East Khasi Hills district, organised a day-long science seminar at St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, here, on Friday.

The seminar saw the participation of students from 15 schools basically focusing on the theme “Chemistry of human welfare-promises and concerns”.

Speaking at the valedictory function, the Deputy Director of Higher and Technical Education B N Lamare stressed on the need of organizing this kind of seminar in the backward areas of the state.

Meanwhile, Sneha Khattri of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School bagged the first prize while Anisha Kharmalki of Little Flower Secondary School and Melbethlin Kharbuli of Laban Bengalee Girls Secondary School secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
