New York: Actress Paz de la Huerta, one of the stars of the television series Boardwalk Empire, pleaded guilty in a Manhattan court to a minor harassment charge for a fight she had last March with model Samantha Swetra at a New York hotel.

The US actress, 26, will not go to jail but must serve a day of community service and take classes of alcohol counseling for 10 weeks, since the ruckus occurred while she was inebriated, the daily New York Post said.

De la Huerta was arrested on the night of March 20 for allegedly throwing a glass and some punches at Swetra, known for her part in the MTV reality show “The City”, giving her a bloody nose and mouth injuries.

According to the accusation, De la Huerta tried to avoid arrest on the night of the dispute, telling cops that “I’m a real actress on HBO!” referring to the TV network that airs her series, and called Swetra “a fake actress publicity-seeker”, the New York Post said.

The TMZ celebrity website said in turn that what sparked the dispute was De la Huerta coming on to a male friend of the model, so that “Sam got defensive”.

The site said that Swetra’s sarcastic comments about about how boozed up the actress was got De la Huerta so incensed she threw a glass at her and punched her in the face. (IANS)
