SHILLONG: The Khasi Jaintia Higher Secondary Adhoc Teachers Association have stated that the teaching staff has not received their salary from the past five months.

Khasi Jaintia Higher Secondary Adhoc Teachers Association general secretary Richmond Kharlukhi on Tuesday said, We haven’t got our salary from March and we are still awaiting it.

According to the teachers, they have already moved the State Education Minister RC Laloo for a discussion on the issue but no response has come from the minister’s side.

It may be mentioned that the Higher Secondary Adhoc Teachers have got their hiked salary only for the month of January and February and since then are not getting any salary. Around 300 Higher Secondary Adhoc teachers earlier this year had boycotted their duties in protest against the non fulfillment of their demand.
