NONGSTOIN: One Charity Pariong, a Class V student of John Bosco at Rambrai, West Khasi Hills, died on Saturday after she was brutally beaten up by her teacher for forging her parent’s signature in the class test paper, a delayed report said on Tuesday.

Charity died at Gordon Roberts Hospital here on Saturday where she was admitted on Friday after her health started to deteriorate. She was admitted to the ICU of the hospital.

According to sources, on last Monday, a teacher of the school, reportedly a nun from Mizoram, allegedly beat her up for forging her parent’s signature in a class test paper by banging her head on the table.

The family members of Charity, however, are yet to file an FIR against the teacher for reasons best known them.

The accused teacher has already left the State, sources said.
