Kohima: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has said it has not subscribed to the ENPO demand for a ‘Frontier Nagaland’.
The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the NPCC has resolved to formulate a working paper for a consensus on the Naga political solution, PAC Chairperson Kewekhape Therie told reporters yesterday that while maintaining that the situation, which is not yet mature enough to gauge in which direction it will go, he voiced apprehension that ”as far as division is concerned, we will all become insignificant.”
”We must learn to live together or we will perish like fools,” he said.
Mr Therie also said it has identified the problems that led to the demand for a separate state.
Besides, it termed exploitation on developmental works by political parties and contractors, job reservation with no transparent policy implementation and public distribution system not reaching the area as the main causes.
The PAC meeting also discussed introduction of Lokpal Bill in the state to check rampant corruption among politicians, Intangki National Park imbroglio and extortion by Underground groups.
