Kohima: Ending all speculations over status of ceasefires with two Naga underground outfits after their split, the truce supervisory board has clarified that the ceasefire is in vogue with both NSCN faction one led by S S Khaplang and other by Khole Konyak.

A vertical split occurred in NSCN(K) in the first week of June leading to confusion over enforcement of truce ground rules and standard operation procedures (SOP) among police and security forces.

The state government last month wrote to the Union Home ministry to clarify whether the ceasefire is applicable only to the group led by Khaplang or both since the truce pact was singed with NSCN(K) in 2001.

Ceasefire supervisory board (CFSB) chairman Maj Gen (retd) Eppen Jacob after holding a meeting with the senior functionaries of the group led by Khole and Kitovi Zhimomi at Chumukedima police complex, told newsmen yesterday that since both the groups expressed desire to continue with the cessation of hostility, the truce ground rules were now applicable to both the factions.
