Govt to start residential schools in blocks

 SHILLONG: With an aim to give proper education to children living in rural areas, the State Government has decided to start residential schools in every block of the State.

Informing this here on Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said, “The government has decided to start residential schools to ensure that every child gets proper education in rural areas”.

Dr Sangma said the establishment of the medical college at Shillong under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode was on right track.
“Land to establish a government medical college at Tura has already been identified,” he said.
“With the establishment of the two medical colleges in the state we would be able to produce more doctors to serve the people,” he said while addressing a gathering at the office of the Directorate of Health Services office here.
