Meghalaya observes Sadbhavana Diwas

 SHILLONG: Meghalaya observed the Sadbhavana Diwas on Friday on the Main Secretariat premises, here.

Sadbhavana diwas is observed in commemoration of birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the day is celebrated all across the country on August 20.

The Sadbhavana Diwas pledge was administered by the Minister of Forest and Environment Prestone Tynsong. Among others present on the occasion include the State Chief Secretary WMS Pariat and other senior Government officials.

Before administering the pledge, Tynsong in his speech recalled the various initiatives taken by Rajiv Gandhi for all round development of the country especially in the fields of science and technology and human resources development.

He also informed that the Sadbhavana Diwas was observed to promote goodwill, national integrity and communal harmony among the people of the country irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
