Driving license

As per the directives of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, all driving licenses are to be issued and printed through the National Software Application SARATHI at the District Transport Officer’s office making mandatory for applicants of leaner license and driving license to appear at the DTO office at least once for capture of Biometrics such as photographs, thump impression and signature which can be done through the software only. This was informed in an official press note.

Janmastami

The Prabasi Utkal Sankrutika Samaj, Shillong will organise the Shree Janmastami Puja at Rilbong Puja Mandap on August 21 and 22.

Cleaning drive

The Department of Social Work of Martin Luther Christian University on Friday organized a cleaning drive in Nongkhyriem locality, Nongthymmai in which the Department is situated. The Department has taken many initiatives similar to these, where the BSW and MSW including the Faculty Members from the department are involved. The cleaning drive was followed by a ‘Role Play’ by students of MSW 3rd Semester to create awareness on civic responsibility of the people and community.

 Relief

The Deputy Commissioner, Jaintia Hills district has informed that an amount of Rs. 65,000 has been released for payment of gratuitous relief to the families affected by fire incident/ Flash Flood (Natural Calamity) in different village under Amlarem Block.
